Meet our team of engineers

An image says more than a 1000 words

We are delighted to show another aspect, one of the many departments within EMCÉ. The engineering department is the heart of EMCÉ. Where it all comes together. The purpose of the engineering department is to translate customer requirements or wishes and provide solid solutions to sales and production.

What they do on a daily basis? For example producing production drawings, 3D modelling, providing reports of strength and stress analysis for example. They also support all other EMCÉ departments in a variety of ways, such as advising the sales department, instruct the production department about special specifications, communicate with customers, subcontractors and third party certification companies.

“One man’s ‘magic’ is another man’s engineering.

Busy Bee - Keeping several balls in the air and at the same time make even more appear

Happy family man with lovely wife and two children. Love to spend time on sports outside, playing soccer with my son and teammates. Living in Haarlem with the beach and our capitol city nearby - enjoying the best of both worlds.

EMCÉ is a company where we continuously seek for points for improvement. What has been designed by us engineers, will also be produced in the same building. These short lines make it easy to point out improvements and institute changes. That makes it attractive and challenging to work for EMCÉ.

Daniël Schuiling, Project Engineer
Engineer – Because superhero isn’t an official job title

Married to the love of my life, father of a little girl called Hannah, and owner of a great dog (which also is my best friend). Love to train in the gym, photograph landscapes, walk for miles, enjoy good Scotch and life as it is.

Since 2004 working for the Stokvis Group. Until 2005, I worked for ELSTO and nowadays for EMCÉ. After finishing my Bachelor degree, I've been promoted to project engineer. So you can say I keep on going and growing with(in) EMCÉ.

My drive is to make the customer happy with our winches at all times. Before we start the process of designing, we map all challenges. What is designed and calculated, must be delivered. A well engineered winch is a happy client and happy co-workers.

Maikel Verbeek, Engineer
Driven by technology - “Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.”

With a father specialized in monumental renovation, I discovered at a young age, while overhauling bikes and cars, that I also have a good sense of technology.

After working as a rotating equipment engineer in the gearbox business, I started working for EMCÉ in 2014. I fill my days as an engineer designing winches for great projects. In addition, I'm also responsible for the implementation of PDM software into our daily process.

Exceptional situations - Time is in most projects the biggest challenge. Instead of project phases that will be taken care of one after another, they are all running at the same time. This demands full focus of all project members. However, I believe that talking and working together with your colleagues will overcome every possible challenge.

Floris Schalk, Engineer
Analytical player - ‘’Measure what is measurable, and make measurable what is not’’.

All-round technical engineer, working for 4 years in the engineering department of EMCE, developing custom built winches and managing project related tasks to ensure quality and feasibility. Background in automotive diagnosis and aerospace engineering.

I like the diversity in projects and design. Working on solutions with the other departments and the whole process from sketch to product. Also the possibility to contribute in hands-on work and assist with testing, maintenance and production.

Arne Stevens, Project Engineer
Reliable enthusiast - Act with uncompromising honesty and integrity in everything we do.

Engineering degree. Started to work here, because my brother told me this job was great. Meanwhile, I’m already working here for over 9 years. Nowadays, people mostly contact me to communicate with others, as I’m often seen as the glue between departments. In my spare time, I’m an avid mountain biker.

Clients are our first priority. However, what to keep in mind while working as an engineer is that all actions have consequences for other departments. It is important to always keep these consequences in mind and act on them.
